What is Tūapapa?
Tuāpapa is a space for men to slow down, reconnect and reflect.
Grounded in te ao Māori, we use haka and cold exposure to push ourselves physically.
We use journaling to turn inwards and connect with our minds. We use the environment to connect with the whenua and our wairua.
We do this together in the spirit of brotherhood and whanau to nurture our social side.
What happens at Tūapapa?
-
Te Taurite. Balance.
Throughout the day you will move between physical, mental and reflective practices including haka, breathwork, cold plunge and sauna, gratitude practices, and guided journaling. Each element is designed to help you steady yourself, reconnect to what matters, and build tools you can carry into everyday life.
-
Hononga. Connection.
Through all of these practices, you will be encouraged to connect with yourself, you will be encouraged to connect with the environmment and you will be encouraged to connect with the people around you.
-
Matauranga.
Everything we do is centered around the Māori health model called Te Whare Tapa Whā. We will look to strengthen all aspects of our health tinana, the body, hinengaro, the mind, wairua, the spirit, whanau, our social side and connect with the taiao, the environment.
